A New Tenant of SEZ Lotus to Launch Production of Drip Irrigation Tape

The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia has granted a certificate of a tenant of Special Economic Zone Lotus to VOSTOK LLC. The company will manufacture components for drip irrigation systems.

As part of the project, the company intends to lease ready-to-use production facilities on the territory of the SEZ in the Astrakhan Region and launch the production of drip irrigation tape. The tenant will invest more than 60 million rubles in modernizing equipment and bringing the production lines into operation. The planned production capacity is 150 million linear metres of tape per year; the design capacity is expected to be reached in the first quarter of 2028.

The plant will manufacture emitter drip tape – each tape incorporates a turbulent-flow emitter that distributes irrigation water and delivers it through outlet openings. Therefore, the design provides a self-flushing effect, preventing the accumulation of suspended particles and ensuring more even water distribution.

The production of slit drip tape will also be established. Ultra-fine laser-cut slits along the entire length of the tape ensure uniform water distribution, preventing excessive water flow at the beginning of the irrigation line and insufficient flow at the end.

“The new tenant plans to establish a high-tech production facility for drip irrigation tape. Today, this is a critically important component of the agro-industrial sector. The finished products will be aimed at meeting the needs of agricultural producers in the Southern Federal District, while the company’s market geography will expand as production develops,” said Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.

VOSTOK LLC has become the 15th tenant of Special Economic Zone Lotus in the Narimanovsky District of the Astrakhan Region. To date, the total investment made by the tenants of the SEZ has reached 8 billion rubles, and 719 jobs have been created on its territory.
