A Tenant of SEZ Lotus Launched Sea Trials of the Dry Cargo Vessel “Kaspiyskiy Bereg”
The multipurpose dry cargo vessel of Project RSD 49, built at Lotos Shipyard of the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center of the USC, has begun sea trials. The dry cargo vessel “Kaspiyskiy Bereg” has departed for the Volgograd Reservoir area for a two-week period.
During the trials, the vessel’s technical characteristics, navigational and main ship equipment, as well as the operation of automation, communication and life-support systems will be confirmed.
Dry cargo vessels of Project RSD 49 are designed for maritime and mixed (river-sea) transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain, and oversized cargo, as well as dangerous cargo, in the Caspian Sea, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, White Sea and North Sea, including voyages around Europe and to the Irish Sea during winter.
A unique feature of vessels of this project is the presence of a large central cargo hold with a length of 52.0 m, which makes it possible to transport oversized cargo. The main propulsion system consists of two medium-speed diesel engines, each with a capacity of 1200 kW.
