Chinese Partners Are Interested in Cooperation with the Tenants of the Astrakhan SEZs

Recently, the Astrakhan Region was visited on a business trip by Maya Man, General Director of Shanghai Manya Industry and Trade Co., to present the company’s capabilities in organizing imports and establishing partnerships with shipbuilding enterprises of the region. The company has been operating in the Russian market since 2015 and specializes in the supply of industrial equipment and components, as well as in organizing foreign economic activities.

At the office of SEZ Lotus JSC, an introductory meeting was held between representatives of the Chinese company and JSC KIT Shipbuilding Lotos, which is implementing a project to build a plant for the production of marine and industrial engines in the Astrakhan SEZ. The negotiations continued during an extended meeting at the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where a detailed presentation of the capabilities of Shanghai Manya Industry and Trade Co. was given and a discussion on the areas of cooperation between the Chinese and Astrakhan businesses was held.

“We can offer Astrakhan enterprises assistance in organizing the import of high-tech equipment and are interested in financially participating in projects being implemented in the Astrakhan Region as well as in developing cooperation in the field of advanced technologies,” Maya Man stated.

The negotiations were attended by representatives of the relevant ministries of the Astrakhan Region, SEZ Lotus JSC, shipbuilding enterprises of the region, as well as a tenant of SEZ Lotus – Rosa LLC. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange technical requests and work on specific projects in the areas of industrial cooperation, shipbuilding, equipment supply, and investment attraction.

“Expanding cooperation with Chinese companies is an important area for us. We are negotiating with a number of potential partners, and this is not the first time we have been in contact with Shanghai Manya Industry and Trade Co. It is important that today we discussed not only trade cooperation, but also the implementation of joint projects and promising solutions for our tenants,” commented Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.
