Shade Net Production Launched in SEZ Lotus

Gexa-Lotos LLC, a tenant of the industrial-production SEZ located in the Narimanov District, has started manufacturing a new product at its facility. Today, the official opening ceremony of the third phase of the plant took place, which will enable the production of an additional up to 8 million square meters of geosynthetic materials per year.

 The new workshop will manufacture shading nets for the agro-industrial complex. These nets are designed to protect crops from scorching sunlight and can regulate shading levels from 40% to 90%, allowing them to be adapted to any farming needs: improving growing conditions for agricultural crops, increasing yields, and, for example, protecting livestock from excessive heat.

 The launch ceremony was attended by Vitaly Shchepin, Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of the Astrakhan Region, representatives of the regional executive authorities, as well as foreign guests – Koffi Leon Konan, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and Yao Hubert Kouadio, Counselor for Economic Affairs of Côte d’Ivoire. The Management Company of SEZ Lotus was represented by Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General.

 In addition, the plant plans to produce bags in demand in agriculture, as well as facade nets widely used in construction – for protecting facade structures and ensuring safety during exterior works. Such materials can also be used to cover plants and crops from adverse weather conditions such as hail and heavy rain.

 The products are planned to be supplied to the Russian market, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea countries, and Africa. The total investment in the project has already exceeded 1 billion rubles, including through government support – in 2025, the company once again obtained a concessional loan from the Industrial Development Fund of the Astrakhan Region in the amount of 150 million rubles to purchase equipment.

 Gexa-Lotos LLC received the status of a tenant of SEZ Lotus in 2017. The company is part of the Gexa-Nonwoven Materials group of companies, which is a leader in the market of nonwoven materials for construction, medicine, and agriculture.

 The company’s products are widely used in the construction, reconstruction, and repair of roads, as well as in general construction works. They are distinguished by high strength, resistance to various temperatures and soil types, which allows their use at oil and gas fields, as well as at major infrastructure facilities across the country.

 Today, the production complex covers more than 7 thousand square meters and is capable of producing about 25 million square meters of finished products annually - up to 300 tonnes of geosynthetic materials per month. The facility manufactures geotextiles and Izospan, known for their quality not only in Russia but also abroad.
