03.06.2025
A joint meeting of the Committee on Economic and Investment Policy was held at the Duma of the Astrakhan Region. Via video conference, members of the regional parliament, government officials, and the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Entrepreneurship, Investment, and Foreign Economic Relations of the People's Council of the Lugansk People's Republic discussed the interregional cooperation that began in 2024.

One of the matters of interest for the colleagues from the LPR was the development of special economic zones in the Astrakhan Region. As a reminder, a free economic zone has been established in the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic, and the LPR representatives are actively studying the experience of Russian regions with a special regime for entrepreneurship.

Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, presented the potential of the Caspian Cluster, spoke about operating enterprises, government support measures, as well as tax benefits and preferences granted within the SEZ territory.

– We often cooperate with colleagues from other SEZs. This helps us not only to develop and improve the investment opportunities of the Caspian Cluster but also to introduce modern technologies and approaches to carrying out activities, – commented Andrey Nalimov.

It should be recalled that in February 2024, the agreement on interparliamentary cooperation was signed between the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Duma of the Astrakhan Region.

The Lugansk colleagues expressed keen interest in the work of Special Economic Zone Lotus and proposed organizing a separate meeting dedicated to the issues of activities of the economic zones in the new regions.
